Parents Without Partners provides single parents and their children the opportunity to enha nce personal growth, self-confidence and sensitivity towards others by offering an environment for support, friendship and the exchange of parenting techniques.
All good words to formally describe what we have been to single mothers and fathers for more than 50 years. But with the growing power of the internet, social media, phantom support groups and the proliferation of dating sites – the idea of gathering face to face at a Timmies or someone’s home seems to have lost fashion. And no-one seems to want to take the opportunity to share with other single parents who are going through the same crap and thus grow and become strong together. I truly believe that our guided discussions and social interactions are still relevant today. Perhaps even more relevant at a time of disembodied texting and anonymous content of message boards.
